“Well, maybe they won't add salt, and maybe they’ll add you to the soup instead of me,” Salt says.
“I think they will still add salt because pepper is bitter and bad,” Ms. Pepper argues.
“So, it turns out I’m a better seasoning,” Mr. Salt brags.
“I know people use you more because they just want to get rid of you faster,” Pepper rages.
“You're less used because you're good for nothing,” Salt thinks, and is proud of himself.
“They want to preserve me, that's why they don't use me. Did you get it?” Miss Pepper says angrily.
Salt jokes: “You’re so prudish! Who wants to keep the likes of you?"
The Pepper did not stop being obstinate, and they continued to argue with Salt for several days. Finally, the day came when the mother of the family made pepper soup, and Miss Pepper ended up in a big pot...
